DO I NEED THE LIGHT?

Marset Catalogue 2019

Alejandra Jaimes beginnings were within the Arts at La Escola Massana, which were the foundations, that followed a method with strong influences from the Bauhaus School. Prompting different techniques and materials, Alejandra recognised the ability to express oneself freely, with no intention to conform.

Alejandra, constantly is on a journey of exploring different techniques that results in clear visual expression and execution of emotions. Exploring different techniques led to a new direction of studying interior Design at La Escola Llotja. This evoked Alejandra's appreciation and ability to learn, understand and explore the concept of (white) space, movement and time.

COLOURFUL TANDEM

Composition V & Composition I

" The understanding go white space, movement and time, is apparent within Alejandra's works. Each piece though not singular in components, visually the sculpture becomes whole and one.

The proportions, shape, linear aspects and movement enable the viewer to pause; In these moments, the concept of space, and time dissolves." - Sade English

Alejandra's earlier career move to London as interior designer in 2016, enabled her to explore further, shape and placement. Combining all of her experience and knowledge she created her own code, signature language unconsciously through her ability to visually understand where her Art's placement physical spaces. Within this process of personal discovery, she became familiar with the 'performance' and the 'happening', which integrates into her work.

MY BLUE DANCE?

Marset Catalogue 2019

With My Blue Dance, Alejandre explores performance, and proposes an essay about the recognition of the triad formed by body, form, and color.

Within the process and  response, she seeks to construct a dialogue with materials such as plaster and pure pigment, creating a performance with her own body and challenging herself to find the bond that unites the meaning and the signifier.
